The DoD SBIR 13.2 solicitation is open for proposal submission from May 24, 2013 through 6 a.m. ET June 26, 2013. For SBIR 13.2 the Army, Navy, Air Force, DARPA, DHP, DMEA, and MDA invite small businesses to submit proposals under this solicitation. The solicitation contains detailed information on the parameters of the SBIR/STTR programs and how to submit a proposal. DoD SBIR Proposals due January 16, 2013

The DoD SBIR 2013.1 solicitation was pre-released at http://www.dodsbir.net/solicitation and http://www.acq.osd.mil/osbp/sbir/solicitations/index.htm on November 16, 2012. For SBIR 13.1 the Air Force, Army, Navy, DARPA, CBD, and SOCOM invite small businesses to submit proposals under this solicitations. During the pre-release period, which ends on December 16, you may contact the topic authors directly (contact information is listed with the topic) to ask technical questions about specific solicitation topics. The DoD will begin accepting proposals on December 17, 2012 and will close to proposals on January 16, 2013 at 6:00 a.m. ET. Plan ahead and submit your proposal early to avoid the risk of website inaccessibility due to heavy usage on the final day.

Proposal are due 11/29/2012 on NASA SBIR Program

NASA is seeking proposals for its Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program that will create the new technologies needed to enable the agency’s future missions while benefiting America. This year’s call includes a new component to NASA’s SBIR Program. NASA has added seven select topics in SBIR, representing unique space technology development challenges the agency believes are well suited to the innovation and problem-solving abilities of America’s small businesses. By complementing its own efforts with these seven areas, NASA is hoping to improve on an already great program that benefits the agency and America’s new technology economy.

The highly competitive SBIR and STTR programs are based on a three-phase award system. Phase 1 is a feasibility study to evaluate the scientific and technical merit of an idea. Firms successfully completing Phase 1 are eligible to submit Phase 2 proposals, expanding on the results of Phase 1. Phase 3 includes commercialization of the results of Phase 2, and requires the use of private sector or non-SBIR federal funding as innovations move from the laboratory to the marketplace.

The deadline for the program is Nov. 29. Selections are expected to be announced in late February 2013. NASA’s Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif., manages the SBIR and STTR programs for the agency’s Space Technology Program. NASA’s 10 field centers manage individual projects.
